Throughout 2024 and 2025 RCLG had been lobbying for the replacement of the bridge across Rapid Creek at the Jingili Waters Gardens. The original bridge forever known as the Red Bridge was at least thirty years old and was deteriorating due to salt water and regular floods. The adjacent creek bank had also been eroded. City of Darwin engineers designed and contracted the construction and installation of the replacement bridge. RCLG were consulted and agreed to the new bright red colour. Before the opening ceremony had concluded, pedestrians and cyclists starting to cross over.
